I'm Bianca. But most people call me Bix.
Web designer, IT professional and the person behind Bix Web. I build professional websites for small businesses that want to look as good online as the work they do in the real world.
Some names just stay with you.
Bix isn't a marketing name somebody came up with for the business. It's personal.
It was a childhood name given to me by someone very special in my life growing up. It's one of those little pieces of your story that sticks, and I've held onto it ever since.
So when it came time to put my own name on something I was building, Bix Web simply felt right.
It started with one website.
A friend asked me to design a website for them. Back then I was building on Yola, so I gave it a go. And I loved it.
What started as one website became something I kept learning, experimenting with and getting better at. A lot has changed since that first build, from the tools I use to the way I approach design, structure and the little details that bring everything together.
I've learnt a lot along the way, and I still am. One of my favourite things is looking back at websites I built years ago and seeing just how much I've grown. Every project has taught me something and every new website gives me another chance to make the next one even better.
Nothing is sexier than a really good-looking website.
And nothing beats a client who's proud to send people to it.Creative eye. Technical brain.
Website design is the creative side of what I do, but my professional background has been in IT for more than 18 years.
That experience changes the way I approach websites. I don't only think about how something looks. I'm comfortable with the technical side too, from hosting and domains to business email, troubleshooting and figuring out why something isn't working the way it should.
It means I'm not afraid to get into the detail when a project needs it.
The part people see.
Layout, colour, typography, content and the overall feeling your website creates.
The part behind it.
Hosting, domains, email and the technical pieces that keep everything connected.
You deal with the person doing the work.
No account manager passing your brief to someone else. No wondering who is actually building your website. From the first conversation through to launch, you're dealing directly with me.
Direct contact
You talk to me. I understand the brief, I design the website and I'm there when something needs changing.
I find a way
I don't like being told something can't be done just because the obvious solution doesn't work. If there's a way to get there, I'll work to find it.
Small business focused
I understand that small businesses need professional results without turning a website project into a complicated agency exercise.
I care about the finish
The details matter. I want the finished website to feel considered, polished and like something you're genuinely proud to show people.
Because your business matters to you.
For a small business owner, a website isn't just another marketing asset. Your name is on the business. Your reputation is behind it. You've put time, money and a lot of yourself into making it work.
I think the website representing that business deserves the same level of care.
My goal isn't to hand you a website and disappear. It's to give your business an online home that looks professional, works properly and feels like you.
Understand the business before designing for it.
Explain what matters without drowning you in jargon.
Your website should look like your business, not mine.
That's the standard I want the finished website to meet.
Design it. Get it online. Keep it there.
Building the website is only one part of getting a business online. If you want to keep things simple, Bix can also handle your website hosting, business email and the technical pieces around them.
Tell me about your business.
You don't need to know exactly what website you need yet. Tell me what you do, where your business is now and what you'd like your website to achieve. We can work out the rest from there.
