How much website does your business need?

More pages do not automatically mean a better website. The right structure depends on how much you need to say, how many services you offer and how customers need to move through the site.

01 SIMPLE ONLINE PRESENCE

One Page

Everything important on one carefully structured scrolling page. Ideal when your offer is straightforward and you do not need multiple service pages.

Good fit for Start-ups Personal brands Small service businesses

02 COMPACT BUSINESS SITE

Three Page

Enough space to separate your most important information instead of trying to fit everything onto one page.

Good fit for Home + Services + Contact Small SMEs Simple customer journeys

04 LARGER BUSINESS SITE

5–10 Page

Designed for businesses that have more services, more information or a more detailed customer journey to communicate.

NOT SURE? You don't need to choose a package before contacting me.

Tell me about the business and what the website needs to achieve. I'll recommend the structure that makes sense rather than simply pushing you into the biggest package.

BEHIND THE DESIGN

What actually goes into your website?

Good website design is not just choosing colours and moving boxes around a page. The design has to support the information, guide the customer and work properly on different devices.

01

Page structure

I work out what information belongs where and how the pages should connect before filling the site with content.

02

Content hierarchy

Headlines, supporting copy and calls to action are organised so customers can scan the page and understand it quickly.

03

Responsive layouts

Desktop is only one part of the design. Tablet and mobile layouts are adjusted so the website still feels intentional.

04

Website copy support

If your wording needs help, I can structure, refine and create website copy around what the business actually needs to say.

05

Customer journey

Buttons, contact points and page flow are planned around what you actually want a visitor to do next.

06

Launch preparation

The finished site is checked and prepared before going live so you are not left trying to finish the technical setup alone.

ALREADY HAVE A WEBSITE?

Sometimes you need a rebuild. Sometimes you don't.

An older website does not automatically need to be thrown away. The right approach depends on the condition of the existing site, its content and how much needs to change.

WEBSITE FACELIFT

Keep the foundation. Improve the experience.

A facelift makes sense when the site still contains useful content and the basic setup works, but the design no longer represents the business properly.

  • Modernise the visual design
  • Improve layout and spacing
  • Refresh existing copy
  • Improve mobile presentation
  • Strengthen calls to action

FULL REBUILD

Start again where it makes sense.

A rebuild may be better when the structure is poor, the site is difficult to maintain or the existing website simply cannot support where the business is going next.

  • New page structure
  • Fresh responsive design
  • Rework the customer journey
  • Restructure content
  • Build around current business goals

THE BIX APPROACH

Design starts with understanding the business.

Before I worry about decorative details, I need to understand what the business does, who the customer is and what the website needs to help that customer do.

01

Understand

What does the business offer? Who are we speaking to? What does someone need to understand before they contact you?

02

Structure

I decide what pages and sections are actually needed, then arrange the information into a logical journey.

03

Design

The visual direction is built around the brand, content and type of customer rather than forcing every business into the same look.

04

Refine

Desktop, tablet and mobile layouts are refined so the hierarchy and usability remain consistent on different screens.

THE RESULT

A website should feel like it belongs to your business, not like your logo was dropped into somebody else's template.

WEBSITE WORK

Same process. Very different businesses.

The design should follow the business. These projects needed very different visual directions because they speak to very different audiences.

01 FOOTBALL CLUB

Sunningdale City FC

The need

A stronger digital home for the club with clearer access to important information for players, parents and supporters.

The approach

Bold club-led visuals, clear information hierarchy and a responsive layout designed around how members actually use it.

02 DIGITAL MARKETING AGENCY

Blackjack Media

The need

A modern agency website that could communicate services, demonstrate results and still feel approachable to SME clients.

The approach

Strong editorial layouts, clear service positioning and a distinctive brand-led visual system rather than a generic agency template.

WEBSITE DESIGN FAQ

A few things to know before we start.

These questions are specifically about designing and building your website. For hosting questions, visit the Hosting page.

No. If you already have wording, I can work with and refine it. If you are starting from scratch, I can help structure and create the website copy needed for the project.

Not necessarily. We can first establish the design direction and work out what imagery the website actually needs. Where you have suitable existing images, those can also be incorporated.

Yes. Where you already have an established logo, colours, typography or visual identity, the website can be designed around those existing brand elements.

Yes. Responsive layouts are part of the design process. The site is adjusted for desktop, tablet and mobile rather than simply shrinking the desktop version.

That is completely fine. Your existing domain can be discussed as part of the project. You do not need to register a new domain simply because the website is being redesigned.

Send me the existing website and tell me what is no longer working for you. I can review what is there and recommend whether it makes sense to improve the current site or rebuild it.

READY WHEN YOU ARE

Tell me what you need. I'll help you work out the rest.

You do not need to arrive with a sitemap, technical specification or perfectly written content. Start with your business and what you need the website to achieve.
